Very expected game when 11th ranked Pertevniyal (9-13) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Akhisar Bld (15-6) 72-63 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 39-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American forward Tyrone Nelson (206-85, college: N.Mexico St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Levent Demirci (190-76) helped adding 15 points. Swingman Tayfun Erulku (188-94) responded with 21 points and center Ramazan Tekin (212-93) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Akhisar Bld. They maintain fifth place with 15-6 record. Loser Pertevniyal dropped to the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Akhisar Bld will face Darussafaka (#10) in Istanbul in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pertevniyal will play at home against Balikesir.
