Regular Season Round 26: BC Kyiv - Halychyna 83-85 OT

Halychyna (5-23) outlasted BC Kyiv (13-15) in overtime by two points 85-83. The game took place in Kyiv. But the guests from Lviv were better at the end. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-14. But BC Kyiv won third quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where BC Kyiv used huge pressure winning it 23-17 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 10-12. They outrebounded BC Kyiv 48-30 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and Bosnian-Serbian forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Halychyna's coach Zeljko Lukajic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 22 points and 4 assists by American guard Gary Ervin (182-83, college: Arkansas) did not help to save the game for BC Kyiv. The former international swingman Artem Shvets (202-85) added 19 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Halychyna maintains fourteenth position with 5-23 record. BC Kyiv at the other side keeps the ninth place with 15 games lost. Halychyna will play against higher ranked DniproAzot (#12) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BC Kyiv will play on the road against Ferro-ZNTU in Zaporozhye and hopes to get back on the winning track.
