Second Stage Round 3: Radviliskis - LKKA-Atletas 71-85

The most interesting game of round 3 was a home defeat of second-best Radviliskis (21-12) to first ranked LKKA-Atletas (22-11) 85-71 in the game for the first place. It was a key game for the top position in . The game was mostly controlled by LKKA-Atletas. Radviliskis managed to win second period 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. LKKA-Atletas made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. It was a great evening for center Tomas Urbonas (218-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Sarunas Vingelis (192-89) helped adding 20 points and 5 assists (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). Four LKKA-Atletas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Tomas Rakauskas (183-81) with 16 points and center Rokas Grinius (204-88) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. LKKA-Atletas maintains first place in with 22-11 record. Radviliskis at the other side keeps the second position with 12 games lost. LKKA-Atletas are looking forward to face Nafta Universitetas (#3) in Klaipeda in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Radviliskis will play on the road against Zalgiris-Sabonio in Kaunas and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
