There was a small surprise in Ankara where seventeenth ranked Orman Genc (7-16) defeated 15th ranked Tire Gucu (9-14) 72-65 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-12. But Tire Gucu won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Muhammed Tachi who scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Timucin Yener (185-84) chipped in 15 points. Four Orman Genc players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Alper Yuce (-92) who recorded 9 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Orman Genc maintains seventeenth position with 7-16 record, which they share with Usak. Loser Tire Gucu dropped to the fourteenth place with 14 games lost. Orman Genc will face Istanbulspor (#19) on the road in the next round.
