We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Fisica (8-6) beat one of their biggest challengers Galitos-Tley (8-6) in Barreiro 71-65 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 22-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Galitos-Tley outrebounded Fisica 42-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Naturalized Guinea-Bissau forward Josimar Cardoso (201-87) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Cape Verdean guard Braima Freire (188-82) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 11 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists by forward Rui Quintino (196-83) did not help to save the game for Galitos-Tley. Guard Alexandre Coelho (178-90) added 21 points for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fisica moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Galitos-Tley. Galitos-Tley lost third consecutive game. Fisica will meet at home Maia Basket (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Galitos-Tley will play against Electrico FC (#6) in Ponte de Sor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
