Regular Season Round 23: Langen - Weissenhorn 85-76

Very expected game when 11th ranked BG Illertal/Weissenhorn (3-17) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked TV 1862 Langen (11-9) 85-76 on Saturday. The game without a history. TV 1862 Langen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to BG Illertal/Weissenhorn's 42. TV 1862 Langen forced 19 BG Illertal/Weissenhorn turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Marco Voeller (201-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. American power forward Luke Fitzgerald (202-87, college: Cumberlands) helped adding 22 points and 11 rebounds. Fitzgerald attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. TV 1862 Langen's coach Fabian Villmeter used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Brian Butler (194-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Dominique Jones (175, college: Ft.Hays State) scored 24 points. Five TV 1862 Langen and four BG Illertal/Weissenhorn players scored in double figures. TV 1862 Langen maintains seventh place in Group South with 11-9 record. BG Illertal/Weissenhorn lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
