Regular Season Round 18: Tofas - Aliaga 65-74

There was a small surprise in Bursa where ninth ranked Aliaga (9-9) defeated 7th ranked Tofas (10-8) 74-65. Aliaga made 26-of-27 charity shots (96.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Tofas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Ryan Toolson (193-85, college: Utah Valley) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 8 rebounds (went 14 for 14 at the free throw line !!!). The former international forward Umit Sonkol (206-82) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Croatian center Jurica Zuza (207-78, agency: Alti Sport) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Austin Nichols (198-82, college: Humboldt St.) added 16 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for Tofas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aliaga moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Erdemir. Tofas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Aliaga's next round opponent will be Trabzonspor (#15) at home and are hoping to win another game.
