Second Stage Round 4: Gargzdai - S.Marciulionio 99-90

We should mention about the upset which took place in Gargzdai, where higher ranked S.Marciulionio (15-19) lost to fifteenth ranked Gargzdai-Bremena (9-25) in a road game 90-99 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-17. But S.Marciulionio won third quarter 28-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gargzdai-Bremena shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Swingman Tadas Mazelis (194-92) fired 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Mantas Martinkus (186-91) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Five Gargzdai-Bremena players scored in double figures. Forward Nerijus Varnelis (200-78) produced 28 points and 6 rebounds and center Egidijus Mockevicius (204-92) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Gargzdai-Bremena maintains fifteenth position in with 9-25 record. Loser S.Marciulionio dropped to the twelfth place with 19 games lost.
