Regular Season Round 23: Hanau - Fraport SKY II 98-64

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Hanau (12-8) outleveled at home 10th ranked Fraport Skyliners II (6-14) 98-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Hanau. Fraport Skyliners II was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hanau dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Fraport Skyliners II's 38. They outrebounded Fraport Skyliners II 37-18 including a 25-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hanau looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Fraport Skyliners II's players. It was a great evening for American forward Jared Cunningham (206-89, college: Cumberlands) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Power forward Marian Schick (198-86) helped adding 10 points and 14 rebounds. Worth to mention Cunningham played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Hanau players scored in double figures. Coach Hans Beth's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Demetrius Jemison (203, college: Manhattan) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Falko Theilig (180-92) scored 19 points and 5 assists. Newly promoted Hanau maintains sixth place in Group South with 12-8 record. Loser Fraport Skyliners II keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
