Twelfth ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners won an overtime thriller against higher ranked New Yorker Phantoms by one point 81-80. The hosts were already 20 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 31-11 New Yorker Phantoms' run in the last quarter tied the game, leading to overtime which they eventually won 9-8. Deutsche Bank Skyliners forced 19 New Yorker Phantoms turnovers. New Yorker Phantoms were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for international power forward Tim Ohlbrecht (211-88) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Quantez Robertson (189-84, college: Auburn) contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Deutsche Bank Skyliners (9-12) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Walter Tigers. New Yorker Phantoms lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with B.Muenchen. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against higher ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. New Yorker Phantoms will play against Walter Tigers in Tuebingen and hope to get back on the winning track.
