A very interesting game took place in Trier. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Bayern Muenchen (11-10) to seventeenth ranked TBB Trier (7-14) 70-68 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Bayern Muenchen was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 20-11 charge of TBB Trier, which allowed them to win the game. American point guard Dru Joyce (183-85, college: Akron) nailed 18 points and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international center Maik Zirbes (205-90) accounted for 10 points and 6 rebounds. American-Bulgarian center Jared Homan (206-83, college: Iowa St.) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian forward Aleksandar Nadjfeji (203-76) added 15 points respectively for Bayern Muenchen in the defeat. Four Bayern Muenchen players scored in double figures. TBB Trier moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with LTi 46ers and Phoenix Hagen. Newly promoted Bayern Muenchen dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. TBB Trier's next round opponent will be league's leader Brose Baskets in Bamberg and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
