Regular Season Round 23: Noerdlingen - Leipzig 93-97

The most shocking disappointment of round 23 was a home defeat of second-ranked Noerdlingen (13-7) to third ranked USC Leipzig (14-6) 97-93 in the game for the second place. It was a key game for the second position in Group South. Noerdlingen trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 12 after three quarters before a 32-24 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 93-97 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for American forward Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds. USC Leipzig's coach Dimitris Polychroniadis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Dima Rastatter (200-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and American guard Jason Jamerson (188-86, college: Grand Valley St.) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four USC Leipzig and five Noerdlingen players scored in double figures. USC Leipzig moved-up to second place in Group South. Newly promoted Noerdlingen dropped to the third position with seven games lost. They share it with BSW Sixers. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
