A very close game took place in Istanbul between Pertevniyal and Balikesir. Sixteenth ranked Pertevniyal (10-13) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Balikesir (10-13). Pertevniyal managed to escape with a 3-point win 69-66 in the game for the tenth place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Balikesir. Balikesir was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 18-13 charge of Pertevniyal, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 19 Balikesir turnovers and had a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Burak Can who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Tayfun Erulku (188-94) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Yunus Akcay (-89) with 22 points and forward Mehmet Ozdogan (198-87) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Pertevniyal moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Balikesir and Istanbul B.B. Pertevniyal will meet Usak (#18) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Balikesir will play against Akhisar Bld (#5) and hope to secure a win.
