Regular Season Round 20: Ternopil - Aviastar 58-99

Bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (0-17) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 99-58 loss to fourth ranked Aviastar (12-7) in Ternopil. The game without a history. Aviastar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ternopil-TNEU to just 6 points in third quarter. Aviastar forced 22 Ternopil-TNEU turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Forward Sergei Fedorov (198-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Ilya Mahinyko (188-91) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Five Aviastar players scored in double figures. point guard Artem Dachenko (183-90) replied with 23 points and center Sergyi Teleshko (209-92) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Ternopil-TNEU. Ternopil-TNEU's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Aviastar maintains fourth position with 12-7 record. Ternopil-TNEU at the other side still closes the standings. Aviastar will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ternopil-TNEU will play again at home against Aviastar (#4) in Zaporozhye and hopes to get finally their first victory.
