There was no surprise when 12th ranked Giessen Pointers (2-18) were outplayed on the road by first ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (16-4) 88-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Oettinger Rockets Gotha led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Giessen Pointers to just 6 points in third quarter. Oettinger Rockets Gotha dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Giessen Pointers' 24. It was a great evening for guard David Watson (185-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points. American forward Davon Roberts (197-86, college: Azusa Pacific) helped adding 13 points and 4 assists. Four Oettinger Rockets Gotha players scored in double figures. Coach Marko Simic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Felix Rotaru (200-79) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Derrick Stevens (180-80, college: Colorado St.) scored 17 points. Oettinger Rockets Gotha maintains first place in Group South with 16-4 record. Giessen Pointers lost sixteenth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
