Regular Season Round 18: Anadolu Efes - Olin Edirne 81-57
Date: February 11, 2012
TBL top team - Anadolu Efes (16-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Olin Edirne (5-13) in Istanbul 81-57. The game was mostly controlled by Anadolu Efes. Olin Edirne was better in second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anadolu Efes had a 23-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Olin Edirne's players. Uruguayan power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Cenk Akyol (196-87) supported him with 15 points and 5 assists. Four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 7 rebounds by Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (209-87, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Olin Edirne. Bulgarian swingman Filip Videnov (196-80, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Interperformances) added 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anadolu Efes have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-2 record. Olin Edirne at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. Anadolu Efes will play against Banvit BK (#4) in Balikesir in the next round. Olin Edirne will play at home against Tofas (#7) in Bursa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
