Very expected game in Istanbul where 10th ranked Turk Telekom (8-10) was defeated by fourth ranked Besiktas (14-4) 79-74. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Turk Telekom won third quarter 21-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Besiktas won last quarter 16-13. It was a good game for British forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu (206-83, college: G.Washington, agency: SportsTalent) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. American forward Adam Morrison (203-84, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American forward Ali Karadeniz (203-80, college: Arizona) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Nedim Yucel (203-79) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Turk Telekom. Four Besiktas and five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Besiktas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Turk Telekom at the other side keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Besiktas' next round opponent will be Fenerbahce Ulker (#5) in Istanbul. Turk Telekom will play at home against Karsiyaka (#6).
