The game in Wuerzburg was also quite interesting. Third ranked Artland Dragons (16-5) played at the court of 5th ranked s Oliver Baskets (12-9). Artland Dragons managed to secure a 4-point victory 72-68 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of s Oliver Baskets. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-10. But s Oliver Baskets won second period 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American-Puerto Rican forward Nathan Peavy (203-85, college: Miami, OH) stepped up and scored 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Artland Dragons' coach Stefan Koch used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Chris Kramer (191-88, college: Purdue) with 21 points and 5 steals and the other American import guard Ben Jacobson (188-83, college: N.Iowa) scored 9 points and 4 assists. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Artland Dragons. They maintain third place with 16-5 record having just three points less than leader Brose Baskets. Newly promoted s Oliver Baskets keep the fifth position with nine games lost. Artland Dragons will meet at home LTi 46ers (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. s Oliver Baskets will play against BBC Bayreuth (#13) and hope to secure a win.
