Fourteenth-ranked LTi 46ers (7-15) were very close to win a game against third ranked Artland Dragons (17-5) in Quakenbrueck. Artland Dragons managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected much easier game. LTi 46ers were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. LTi 46ers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Anthony Hilliard (193-86, college: Elizabeth City) had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 14 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Bosnian power forward Elvir Ovcina (210-76, college: Syracuse, agency: Interperformances) responded with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American power forward Chad Prewitt (206-80, college: Arizona St., agency: Priority Sports) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. LTi 46ers' coach Bjoern Harmsen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Artland Dragons have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-5 record having just one points less than leader Brose Baskets. LTi 46ers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with EnBW L'burg. Artland Dragons will play against ALBA Berlin (#4) on the road in the next round. LTi 46ers will play against BBC Bayreuth (#13) and hope to get back on the winning track.
