Very expected game when 11th ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (9-13) lost on the road to seventh ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (12-9) 76-70. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It looked good early as Deutsche Bank Skyliners took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Eisbaeren Bremerhaven had a 28-11 second period charge getting the lead and Deutsche Bank Skyliners were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-76. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. American guard Anthony Smith (196-86, college: Liberty, agency: Pro One Sports) fired 25 points for the winners. The other American import guard Mike Smith (198-87, college: E.Tenn.St.) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Five Deutsche Bank Skyliners players scored in double figures. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Deutsche Bank Skyliners at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven's next round opponent will be league's second-placed ratiopharm Ulm on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against Bayern Muenchen (#7).
