Very predictable result when fourth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (14-8) won against 10th ranked NBC (9-12) in Nurnberg 90-82. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-13. But NBC won second period 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Crailsheim Merlins made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Crailsheim Merlins outrebounded NBC 38-22 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for forward Darryl Webb (198-88, college: Indiana, PA, agency: Pro One Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Billy Baptist (196-87, college: Quincy) helped adding 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins' coach Ingo Enskat allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Jaivon Harris (197-82, college: Ohio) responded with 20 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and guard Will Chavis (181-81, college: Texas Tech) scored 14 points. Crailsheim Merlins moved-up to third place. NBC lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Heidelberg and Cuxhaven. Crailsheim Merlins will play against Saar-Pfalz Braves (#14) in Homburg in the next round which should be an easy win for them. NBC will play on the road against Ehingen/Urspringschule in Allmendingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
