Regular Season Round 20: Utena - Suduva 60-61

The most exciting game of round 20 in the LMKL took place in Utena. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked Utena (8-12) to eighth ranked Suduva (5-15) 61-60 on Friday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Utena won third quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Ligita Kinkeviciene (173-76) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Russian forward Margarita Bulanova (178-90) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Guard Asta Daujadiene (176-73) responded with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Kristina Palaimaite (191-81, college: Liberty) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Suduva moved-up to seventh place. Utena lost fourth consecutive game. Utena at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Suduva are looking forward to face league's leader VICI-Aistes in Kaunas in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Utena will play on the road against Kibirkstis-Tiche (#4) in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
