Regular Season Round 25: Gelisim - Gaziantep 65-66

Fifteenth-ranked Gelisim (9-15) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Gaziantep (17-7) in Izmir. The visitors from Gaziantep managed to secure only one-point victory 66-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gelisim won third quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Gaziantep won last quarter 14-15. Guard Serhat Ugur (192-85) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and power forward Ahmet Kaplan (206-79, agency: 1x1 Sports) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU) responded with 23 points and center Kaan Isbilen (205-83) scored 17 points. Gaziantep maintains fourth place with 17-7 record. Gelisim at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Baskent Genclik and Tire Gucu. Gaziantep will play against Tire Gucu (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gelisim will play against Baskent Genclik in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
