Regular Season Round 15: Fisica - Maia Basket 64-71

There was an upset when 4th placed Fisica (8-7) lost to ninth ranked Maia Basket (7-8) in Torres Vedras 64-71 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 42-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for center Paulo Diamantino (203-85) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Pedro Catarino (184-90) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Cape Verdean guard Braima Freire (188-82) answered with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Carlos Dias (197-79) added 15 points in the effort for Fisica. Maia Basket moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Oliveirense. Fisica at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Maia Basket will face higher ranked Electrico FC (#6) in Ponte de Sor in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fisica will play on the road against Angrabasket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
