The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourteenth ranked Silute's (14-22) road victory over 15th ranked Gargzdai-Bremena (9-27) 80-72 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Gargzdai-Bremena was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Arturas Kaubrys (205-83) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Evaldas Saulys (193-93) chipped in 23 points during the contest. Silute's coach Petras Jonikas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Renatas Jonelis (201-84) with 19 points and 7 rebounds and forward Linas Jonuska (198-91) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Silute maintains fourteenth position in with 14-22 record. Newly promoted Gargzdai-Bremena keeps the fifteenth place with 27 games lost. Silute will face higher ranked Statyba (#10) in Vilnius in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gargzdai-Bremena will play on the road against ABRO-Universitetas (#16) in Siauliai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
