Regular Season Round 21: Sirenos - Fortuna 63-72

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kaunas. Third ranked Lemminkainen faced second-best Sirenos. Guests from Klaipeda (13-7) defeated host Sirenos (13-8) 72-63. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Sirenos was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-10 charge of Lemminkainen, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 19 Sirenos turnovers. The best player for the winners was Monika Grigalauskyte (190-92) who scored 8 points and 12 rebounds. point guard Inesa Visgaudaite (172-91) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Rasa Zemantauskaite (177-81) who recorded 11 points and 8 rebounds and guard Indre Kersulyte (171-89) added 17 points respectively. Lemminkainen have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Sirenos dropped to the third position with eight games lost. Lemminkainen are looking forward to face league's leader VICI-Aistes in Kaunas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sirenos' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas LKKA-Aistes.
