Regular Season Round 23: ETB Wohnbau - Leitershofen 90-82

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked ETB Wohnbau (10-11) beat bottom-ranked Leitershofen (4-17) in Essen 90-82. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Leitershofen won third quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ETB Wohnbau made 28-of-37 charity shots (75.7 percent) during the game. ETB Wohnbau outrebounded Leitershofen 38-25 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points. Forward Kevin Wysocki (198-87) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. ETB Wohnbau's coach Igor Krizanovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Corey Hassan (193-87, college: Sacred Heart) responded with 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Jan Lipke (193-83, agency: Court Side) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. ETB Wohnbau have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted Leitershofen stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. ETB Wohnbau will play against higher ranked Science City Jena (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leitershofen will play against Cuxhaven BasCats (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
