Regular Season Round 25: Svendborg - Horsens IC 87-97

The game between second ranked Svendborg (22-3) and sixth ranked Horsens IC (10-15) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Svendborg was defeated by Horsens IC in Svendborg 97-87. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Svendborg. The game was mostly controlled by Horsens IC. Svendborg managed to win second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Horsens IC shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Slovenian guard Davor Sattler (185-86, agency: Global Sports Plaza) stepped up and scored 32 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Will Harris (198-86, college: Albany) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Durell Vinson (201-85, college: Wagner) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Matthew Kingsley (206-86, college: SF Austin) scored 17 points. Five Svendborg players scored in double figures. Horsens IC moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Vaerlose. Svendborg at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Horsens IC is looking forward to face higher ranked SISU (#4) in Copenhagen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Svendborg will play on the road against the league's leader Bakken in Aarhus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
