Regular Season Round 23: Karlsruhe - Ehingen 78-70

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (10-12) lost on the road to twelfth ranked BG Karlsruhe (10-12) 78-70. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ehingen/Urspringschule won third quarter 23-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BG Karlsruhe won last quarter 19-13. Ehingen/Urspringschule was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American center Justin Howard (208-81, college: Mercer) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds. Naturalized American swingman Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) helped adding 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five BG Karlsruhe players scored in double figures. American guard Garrett Williamson (196-88, college: St.Joseph's) responded with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Andreas Buechert (208-87, college: Winthrop, agency: Limelight Hoops) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. BG Karlsruhe have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Ehingen. BG Karlsruhe will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play at home against NBC (#11) in Nurnberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
