Regular Season Round 25: TED Kolejliler - Baskent Genclik 81-63

Very expected game when 14th ranked Baskent Genclik (9-15) lost to second ranked Optimum TED (19-5) in Ankara 63-81 on Saturday. The game without a history. Optimum TED led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Baskent Genclik's players. It was a very good performance for guard Ali Kavaklioglu (186-86) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Osman Orcun Gollu (190-77) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Melih Sevda (200-78) answered with 19 points (made all of his seven free throws) and forward Recai Ozturk (198-82) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Baskent Genclik. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Optimum TED have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Selcuk Univ. Loser Baskent Genclik keeps the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. Optimum TED will face Pamukkale (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Baskent Genclik will play against Gelisim in Izmir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
