Regular Season Round 19: Kayseri - Fenerbahce 88-80

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Fenerbahce (16-3) on the court of third ranked Kayseri on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Kayseri 88-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 26-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-88 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American LaToya Sanders (191-86, college: N.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Bulgarian-American point guard Doneeka Hodges-Lewis (175-82, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Kayseri players scored in double figures. American forward Angel McCoughtry (185-86, college: Louisville) answered with 32 points and Australian forward Penny Taylor (185-81) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Fenerbahce. Kayseri maintains third place with 13-6 record having just three points less than leader Fenerbahce. Defending champion Fenerbahce still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Galatasaray. Kayseri are looking forward to face Optimum TED (#10) in Ankara in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fenerbahce will play at home against Besiktas (#11) in Istanbul and is hoping to win this game.
