There was no surprise in Frankfurt where 10th ranked Fraport Skyliners II (6-15) was defeated by third ranked Noerdlingen (14-7) 69-53 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning next two quarters and won the game by 16 points. Noerdlingen dominated on the defensive end, holding Fraport Skyliners II to just 7 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Fraport Skyliners II's 20. They outrebounded Fraport Skyliners II 41-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. American forward Kedrick Johnson (192-83, college: Lee) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import guard Jason Jamerson (188-86, college: Grand Valley St.) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Four Noerdlingen players scored in double figures. Forward Fabian Franke (198-88, agency: Limelight Hoops) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Danilo Barthel (207-91, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Noerdlingen moved-up to second place in Group South, which they share with Leipzig and BSW Sixers. Loser Fraport Skyliners II keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Noerdlingen will face BG Illertal/Weissenhorn (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fraport Skyliners II will play against the league's leader Oettinger Rockets Gotha.
