Regular Season Round 27: Hoverla - DniproAzot 70-78

We should mention about the upset which took place in Frankivsk, where higher ranked Hoverla (16-12) lost at home to twelfth ranked DniproAzot (9-20) 70-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hoverla. It looked good early as Hoverla took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then DniproAzot had a 20-10 second period charge getting the lead and Hoverla was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-78. They outrebounded Hoverla 45-28 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Filipino-American point guard Stanley Pringle (184-87, college: Penn St.) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Mario Little (195-87, college: Kansas) accounted for 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Five DniproAzot players scored in double figures. DniproAzot's coach Donaldas Kairys allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) came up with 28 points and the other American import swingman Brian Greene (195-83, college: Florida A&M) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Hoverla in the defeat. DniproAzot maintains twelfth place with 9-20 record. Hoverla at the other side keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
