Eleventh-ranked Istanbul B.B. (11-14) gave a tough game to seventh ranked Final Genclik (16-9) in Bursa on Wednesday. Final Genclik managed to secure only three-point victory 67-64. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 17-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Erdem Ilter (-90) who scored 21 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Volkan Tokcan (203-88) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. Final Genclik's coach Ali Ozbay used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Soner Sahin (202-84) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian power forward Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Final Genclik maintains seventh position with 16-9 record. Loser Istanbul B.B. dropped to the tenth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Balikesir. Final Genclik will meet Vestel (#8) in the next round. Istanbul B.B. will play against Orman Genc in Ankara and hope to secure a win.
