Regular Season Round 26: Akhisar Bld - Usak 79-69

Very expected game when 17th ranked Usak (8-17) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Akhisar Bld (16-8) 79-69. The game was mostly controlled by Akhisar Bld. Usak was better in second period 21-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Usak 50-31 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Tyrone Nelson (206-85, college: N.Mexico St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Guven Esmer (193-80) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Center Cem Coskun (209-87) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Nikolay Pastal (202-83) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Usak. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akhisar Bld maintains sixth position with 16-8 record. Usak at the other side keeps the seventeenth place with 17 games lost. Akhisar Bld's next round opponent will be higher ranked Maliye Milli (#5) in Ankara and it may be quite challenging game. Usak will play at home against Balikesir (#10).
