Darussafaka (12-13) outlasted Balikesir (11-14) in overtime by three points 76-73. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Balikesir won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Balikesir used huge pressure winning it 15-10 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 5-8. Balikesir was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Goekhan Sunter (196-80, agency: 1x1 Sports) notched 20 points to lead the effort and American forward Joshua Dollard (203-86, college: USC Aiken) supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Darussafaka players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Court Side) did not help to save the game for Balikesir. Guard Yunus Akcay (-89) added 24 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the guests. Balikesir's coach Ismail Dogrutekin tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Darussafaka moved-up to ninth place. Newly promoted Balikesir dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Istanbul B.B.. Darussafaka's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena TED Istanbul.
