Regular Season Round 24: Bayreuth - Fraport SKY 57-90
Date: February 25, 2012
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked BBC Bayreuth's (9-15) home loss to twelfth ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (11-13) 57-90 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Deutsche Bank Skyliners. BBC Bayreuth managed to win third quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Deutsche Bank Skyliners shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jimmy McKinney (192-83, college: Missouri, agency: Strategic Sports) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and the other American import forward Jacob Burtschi (198-84, college: Air Force) who added 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Deutsche Bank Skyliners players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Brandon Hunter (201-80, college: Ohio) with 12 points and Estonian guard Rain Veideman (192-91) scored 8 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Deutsche Bank Skyliners moved-up to eleventh place. Loser BBC Bayreuth keeps the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will meet at home league's leader Brose Baskets in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. BBC Bayreuth will play against BG Goettingen (#18) and hope to secure a win.
