There was a small surprise when fourth ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (14-9) beat at home second-best Kirchheim Knights (15-7) 72-65 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 26-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Gary Johnson (188-82, college: Cent.Florida) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 assists and Japanese point guard Takumi Ishizaki (188-84) who added 10 points and 8 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Albanian guard Besnik Bekteshi (188-93) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Cedric Brooks (185-80, college: Pittsburg St.) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BV Chemnitz 99 maintains fourth position with 14-9 record. Loser Kirchheim Knights keep the second place with seven games lost.
