There was no surprise in Ankara where 10th ranked Turk Telekom (8-11) was crushed by sixth ranked Karsiyaka (11-8) 88-67 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-67. Karsiyaka forced 21 Turk Telekom turnovers. Forward Ilkan Karaman (205-90, agency: Beo Basket) fired 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Mire Chatman (187-78, college: UTPA, agency: Higher Vision Sports) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Four Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. Karsiyaka's coach Hakan Demir felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Ali Karadeniz (203-80, college: Arizona) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Karsiyaka maintains sixth place with 11-8 record, which they share with Tofas. Turk Telekom lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. Karsiyaka will face Hacettepe Univ. (#11) in Ankara in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Turk Telekom will play at home against Fenerbahce Ulker in Istanbul.
