Regular Season Round 27: TED Istanbul - Darussafaka 68-63

Bottom-ranked TED Istanbul managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the series of two consecutive loses. This time they won against ninth-ranked Darussafaka 68-63. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Darussafaka won third quarter 13-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Darussafaka was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Shawn Taggart (207-85, college: Memphis) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Can Uzun (195-86) accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four TED Istanbul players scored in double figures. American forward Joshua Dollard (203-86, college: USC Aiken) came up with 15 points and center Dogukan Sonmez (206-92) added 9 points respectively for Darussafaka in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TED Istanbul maintains twentiethth place with 6-20 record. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Balikesir and Istanbul B.B.. TED Istanbul will play against higher ranked Akhisar Bld (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Darussafaka will play against Usak and hopes to get back on the winning track.
