No shocking result in a game when second ranked Nafta Universitetas (24-14) beat 7th ranked Matinga-Juod. (21-17) in Klaipeda 91-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Nafta Universitetas. Matinga-Juod. was better in second period 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nafta Universitetas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Evaldas Lengvinas (190-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points. Forward Valentras Tarolis (203-91) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Aurimas Birgelis (190-88) replied with 21 points and 8 assists and forward Karolis Pupinis (200-88) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Matinga-Juod.Four Matinga-Juod. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nafta Universitetas maintains second position in with 24-14 record behind leader Radviliskis. Newly promoted Matinga-Juod. dropped to the sixth place with 17 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
