Top ranked Anadolu Efes (16-3) recorded its third loss in Balikesir on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Banvit BK (14-4) in overtime 95-86. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Anadolu Efes. Anadolu Efes was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 25-18 charge of Banvit BK, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 18-9. Banvit BK dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Anadolu Efes' 28. It was a great shooting night for Banvit BK especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by Anadolu Efes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Bosnian forward Kenan Bajramovic (206-81) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American guard Keith Simmons (196-85, college: Holy Cross, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Serbian power forward Dusko Savanovic (204-83, agency: Beo Basket) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Kerem Tunceri (190-79) added 14 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Five Banvit BK and four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Banvit BK have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Anadolu Efes at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Banvit BK are looking forward to face Tofas (#7) in Bursa in the next round. Anadolu Efes will play at home against the league's second-placed Galatasaray (#2) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
