Very expected game when 10th ranked Barcelos (4-14) lost to third ranked GDESSA (12-5) in Barreiro 50-64 on Saturday. The game without a history. GDESSA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 28 Barcelos turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 23 on the defensive glass. American guard Angie Ned (175-85, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: Gamble Sports Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Joana Bernardeco (168-90) accounted for 23 points and 5 assists. American forward Taneskei Richardson (182-88, college: Jacksonville, agency: Gamble Sports Management) came up with 19 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Lauren Gregory (185, college: Vanguard) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Barcelos in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for GDESSA. They maintain third place with 12-5 record having four points less than leader Alges. Barcelos lost their fourth game in a row.
