There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked USC Heidelberg (10-12) defeated at home higher ranked Gloria Giants (11-11) 79-75 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 20-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. USC Heidelberg shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Paul Zipser (195-94) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and American guard Clint Sargent (193, college: S.Dakota St.) who added 18 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Estonian forward Rait Keerles (201-80) with 21 points and 8 rebounds and American-Liberian forward Patrick Flomo (203-80, college: Ohio) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Gloria Giants players scored in double figures. Gloria Giants' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. USC Heidelberg moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Karlsruhe and NBC. Gloria Giants at the other side keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. USC Heidelberg will face league's second-placed Kirchheim Knights on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
