There was no surprise in Braunschweig where 12th ranked Walter Tigers (10-14) were defeated by tenth ranked New Yorker Phantoms (12-11) 89-78 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by New Yorker Phantoms. Walter Tigers managed to win third quarter 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. New Yorker Phantoms made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. New Yorker Phantoms outrebounded Walter Tigers 37-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when New Yorker Phantoms made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian forward Branko Jorovic (205-81, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Immanuel McElroy (193-80, college: Cincinnati) who added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. New Yorker Phantoms' coach Sebastian Machowski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Louis Campbell (190-79, college: Buffalo, agency: Pro One Sports) with 14 points and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Tyrone Nash (203-88, college: Notre Dame) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. New Yorker Phantoms moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Telekom Baskets and EWE Baskets. Loser Walter Tigers keep the twelfth position with 14 games lost.
