Rather expected game in Mersin where 9th ranked Tarsus Bld (7-13) was defeated by sixth ranked Samsun (10-10) 79-75 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-19. But Tarsus Bld won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Samsun won last quarter 18-16. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jillian Robbins (185-84, college: Tulsa, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international power forward Melike Bakircioglu (191-87, agency: 1x1 Sports) who added 16 points during the contest. American power forward Chasity Melvin (191-76, college: N.Carolina St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Ivory Latta (168-84, college: N.Carolina) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Samsun moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Botas. Loser Tarsus Bld dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. Samsun will face league's leader Fenerbahce in Istanbul in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tarsus Bld will play at home against Botas (#5) in Adana.
