Regular Season Round 29: Budivelnyk - Ferro-ZNTU 115-72

Superleague top team - Budivelnyk (22-6) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Ferro-ZNTU (17-13) in Kyiv 115-72. The game was mostly controlled by Budivelnyk. Ferro-ZNTU was better in fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Budivelnyk dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Ferro-ZNTU's 38. Budivelnyk forced 20 Ferro-ZNTU turnovers and outrebounded them 37-17 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Budivelnyk players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Ferro-ZNTU's players. The former international forward Andriy Agafonov (207-86, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and American forward Zach Morley (203-83, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. American forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center R.T. Guinn (208-81, college: Baylor) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Budivelnyk and four Ferro-ZNTU players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Budivelnyk have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-6 record. Ferro-ZNTU at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost. Budivelnyk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ferro-ZNTU will play at home against Cherkasy (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
