Regular Season Round 29: Dnipro - Cherkasy 84-85

A very close game took place in Dnepropetrovsk between Cherkasy and Dnipro. Thirteenth ranked Cherkasy (8-21) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Dnipro (16-14). Cherkasy managed to escape with a 1-point win 85-84 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dnipro. Dnipro was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Cherkasy made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford) nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and Serbian power forward Miljan Pupovic (209-83, agency: 011 Sports) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds. American swingman Qyntel Woods (203-81, college: N.Mississippi JC) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and international guard Steven Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for Dnipro in the defeat. Four Dnipro players scored in double figures. Cherkasy maintains thirteenth place with 8-21 record. Loser Dnipro keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Cherkasy will meet higher ranked Ferro-ZNTU (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dnipro will play against BC Donetsk and will have a slim chance for a victory.
