Regular Season Round 27: Bakken - SISU 82-80 OT

Fourth-ranked SISU (12-15) was very close to win a game against first ranked Bakken (25-2) in Aarhus on Thursday. Bakken managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-13. But SISU won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where SISU used huge pressure winning it 19-18 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 10-12. They outrebounded SISU 42-30 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. SISU was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Joshua Alexander (193-87, college: SF Austin) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. The former international power forward Nicolai Iversen (205-80, college: San Jose City JC) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Bakken's coach Philip Dejworek used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman David Harder (196-87) answered with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Donald Rutherford (198-87, college: Catawba) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for SISU. Five Bakken and four SISU players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first place with 25-2 record. SISU at the other side keeps the fourth position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
