Silute (15-24) outlasted Ezerunas-Karys (19-20) in overtime by eleven points 86-75 on Friday night. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 28-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-4. Silute made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Ezerunas-Karys turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Evaldas Saulys (193-93) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Vitalis Pancerevas (185-87, college: Weatherford JC) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Silute players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Justas Narusis (198-90) who recorded 19 points and center Marius Janisius (203-77) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Ezerunas-Karys' coach Mindaugas Kildisius tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Silute maintains fourteenth place in with 15-24 record. Newly promoted Ezerunas-Karys keeps the eleventh position with 20 games lost. Silute will meet higher ranked S.Marciulionio (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ezerunas-Karys will play against ABRO-Universitetas in Siauliai and hope to secure a win.
